We are currently looking for an ambitious, organized, detail-oriented candidate for a purchasing clerk position. The successful candidate will have demonstrated skills in multi-tasking, organization and effective communication. The most successful candidate will have a proven background of being a self-starter, which is crucial to this position.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: assisting purchasing and warehouse departments with the proper processing of orders, invoices and inventory management of materials, among other duties as assigned.

Some specific tasks include:

  • Submitting project material orders to vendors
  • Daily follow up on lead times and delivery dates for ordered materials
  • Assisting with processing material invoices to accounts payable
  • Arranging returns to vendors of materials that become unusable upon instruction.
  • Completing credit applications to vendors
  • Partnering with warehouse manager to ensure inventory is up to date
  • Processing credits in order entry for returned material to vendors
  • Coordinating material deliveries from vendors (this includes hiring 3rd party freight carriers).
  • Request/Arrange prepayments for materials with accounting
  • Filing and general clerical functions within the operations

We seek candidates who possess a year or more experience in an administrative capacity along with:

  • General understanding of units of measure (i.e. feet, yards, inches, etc.) and converting from one to another
  • Time management acumen
  • Attention to detail
  • Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office
  • Previous experience with the construction industry, purchasing and/or the use of RFMS a HUGE plus
